The TransitMatters Board of Directors met on January 31, 2023 for the monthly board meeting.

Below is a summary of topics discussed:

General
- We welcomed Katie Calandriello, our new Programs Manager who has taken over for Matt Petersen
- Jennifer Raitt (Jenny) was elected our new Board President. The slate of directors was re-elected for a 1-year term.
- We also thanked Josh Fairchild for his many years of service to the Board as co-founder and President. His tenure included many milestones including the hiring of TM's first staff member (Jarred). Josh is still on the Board (and exec subcommittee).
Staffing Update
- Jackson Moore-Otto will be joining the team as a Program and Development Assistant. We're excited for him to start next week.
Strategic Planning
- We're in the process of updating our mission, vision, and values to foreground equity, the environment, and people. We'll share these updated versions soon. And don't worry, these changes won't mean a dramatic shift, it's more about the lens we view our work through.
2023 Goals and Workplan
- Jarred presented a draft work plan to the board. He is still getting feedback from staff, but we'll have this set soon at the retreat.
Follow-Up
- We followed on some development reporting. Liz Haney did a fantastic job with our fall campaign (a huge thanks to Dani Caisse, our Social Media Manager, for her support as well). We'll be planning our Membership Drive soon.
- We are close to naming some new board members- some of them will be familiar to the Slack community. Stay tuned!
